How Consumer Environmental Responsibility Affects the Purchasing Intention of Design Furniture Products

Consumer environmental responsibility has been commonly considered as an antecedent to green consumption intention and eco-design purchases. However, little research investigated how concern affects the relationship between design attributes purchasing intention, especially in furniture setting, where companies are often involved design-intensive processes problems. This study investigates (i) consumers perceive different dimensions of which most affect their items; (ii) role consumers’ on intention. An online questionnaire survey was employed collect data from 350 Italian consumers. The findings reveal that can be intended a three-dimensional construct, based functional, aesthetic, symbolic attributes. While functional aesthetic features relevant factors affecting perception design, is mainly influenced by dimension design.
